How to Resolve File Upload Errors Caused by Header Mismatch

This page explains the most frequent reasons of header mismatch errors when you upload files, and helps you find the cause of your errors.

1: The method used to download the file from the exchange is incorrect

  • For exchange files
cryptact supports only files downloaded using the methods described in each exchange’s download instructions on our help pages. Files downloaded via any other method are not processed automatically. Please confirm again that you have followed the correct download procedure.

  • For custom files
If there are trade records that could not be obtained via exchange download or API linkage, you can manually enter trades into a custom file provided by our company and upload it to cryptact. Please be sure to use the sample file downloaded from the help page below.

2: The file has been uploaded to a cryptact upload box other than the designated one

Especially when multiple files exist for each transaction type and are uploaded into separate upload boxes, please double-check that each file is indeed uploaded to the correct designated upload box.

3: The file was individually created by the exchange’s support desk

Files individually created by an exchange’s support desk are not processed automatically, as their formats may vary depending on the staff member who generated them. We kindly ask that you either upload a file downloaded using the method described on cryptact’s help pages, or—if obtaining the file from the exchange is not possible—use API linkage or upload via a custom file.

4: The CSV file is corrupted

For CSV files downloaded from exchanges or custom CSV-format files, opening or editing the file may corrupt it and prevent successful upload. Please upload the CSV file from the exchange directly without opening or editing it. If you absolutely need to view or edit the contents, please refer to the help page below for instructions on how to do so safely.

5: The exchange has changed its file format

Please send the relevant trade history file via the ‘Support’ button located at the bottom right of the Help Center screen. We will review the file—including any potential changes in the file format on the exchange side—to verify whether automatic processing is possible.
