This help page explains how to download calculation results as a file in cryptact.
1. The Files We Provide
The file available for download varies depending on the country. All paid plans allow users to download tax reports* and tax calculation results of all years you have transaction histories.
1-1. India
- Calculation result file (file name: cryptact-ledger)
- Custom file (only if you have uploaded a custom file)
- Tax report (file name: cryptact-annual-summary-[ ]-Year)(only for users in India and Canada)
- cryptact India capital gains summary (only for users in India)
- cryptact India derivatives summary(only for users in India)
Tax report and some India specific files are available for users who select below:
- Reporting currency: Indian rupee (INR)
- Cost basis method: FIFO or Average Cost Basis (ACB) method
- Year to download the file: specific year other than "All fiscal years"
Please note that "Income summary" section is available in the tax report file.
1-2. Japan and others
- Calculation result file (file name: cryptact-ledger)
- Custom file (only if you have uploaded a custom file.)
- Cryptocurrency cost basis method filing
*If you are in Japan, you can prepare for tax filing without this summary report. You can check the general procedure on cryptact's blog. For further details, please consult the tax agency in your area or a professional accountant.
1-3. Canada
- Calculation result file (file name: cryptact-ledger)
- Custom file (only if you have uploaded a custom file)
- Tax report (file name: cryptact-annual-summary-[ ]-Year) (only for users in Canada and India)
The tax report is available for users who select below:
- Reporting currency: Canadian dollar (CAD)
- Cost basis method: Average Cost Basis (ACB)
- Year to download the file: specific year other than "All fiscal years"
Notes:
- PDF files are not available for the calculation result file and the custom file.
- If the number of transactions is large, the calculation result file will be automatically extracted as a CSV file.
- The download link is valid for 6 hours from the time it is sent. Please download it within 6 hours.
- The downloaded calculation result file cannot be uploaded to cryptact to reflect the transaction details. Please be aware of this in advance.
2. How to Generate the Files
2-1. On the "Transaction" page, click the "Download" in the upper right corner to download all calculation result files.
2-2.Select the relevant year or choose All fiscal years located below.
*please note that the Canadian tax report is not generated when All fiscal years is selected.
2-3.After selecting the year to download, click on "Generate".
*For Japanese users, the files that can be downloaded will differ depending on whether you select the "Periodic Average Cost" or the "Average Cost" in your ledger settings.

2-4.The following Excel file will be sent to your registered email address. At the same time, a Download message will appear at the bottom right of the screen, so you can also click Download to download the file directly.
3. File contents

Ledger
The list of transactions uploaded to cryptact can be viewed.

Annual
You can view, by fiscal year, details for each coin such as the "Year-end Position", "Average cost (at year-end)", and other related information.

Exchenge
You can view, by Exchange, the “Total Revenue,” “Total Cost,” and “(Realized) P&L (for the year)”.

Summary
You can view, details for each coin such as the "Cost/Coin", "LTD Realized P&L". -
Starting balance
Only users who have used the “Adding your starting balance” feature can view the "Position", and other details for each coin.

Portfolio
You can view the information from the “Coins” on the portfolio screen (as of the download date) only if you selected “All Years” when downloading.3-2.Custom file (File name: cryptact-custom-~)
If you have uploaded a custom file to cryptact, you can view the corresponding transaction list. In addition, you can upload the downloaded file back to cryptact to reflect the transactions from the custom file.
