How to use simplified method in custom file

This help page introduces how to use the simplified method in a custom file.

1. What is the simplified method?

In blockchain games (BCG), the acquisition and use of in-game currency is often frequent, and evaluating each transaction is considered cumbersome. Therefore, the National Tax Agency JAPAN's FAQ on the taxation of NFTs introduces a method of calculating miscellaneous income by evaluating in bulk at the end of the year using the "simplified method". For details, please refer to National Tax Agency JAPAN FAQ (see question 8).

Calculation method of miscellaneous income using the simplified method

1. Income amount of in-game currency = "Total amount of in-game currency owned on December 31 of that year" - "Total amount of in-game currency owned on January 1 of that year" - "Total amount of in-game currency purchased in that year"

2. Amount of miscellaneous income = "Income amount of in-game currency" obtained in 1 above × "Exchange rate of crypto assets (as of 23:59 on December 31)"

* If it is difficult to determine the market value, such as when the in-game currency cannot be exchanged for crypto assets, the amount of miscellaneous income can be considered as 0 yen.

* If the in-game currency is exchanged for crypto assets during the year, the value of the crypto assets obtained by the exchange will be added to the miscellaneous income.

2. How to record in a custom file

Deposits and withdrawals between your own accounts do not affect balances or profits and losses and do not need to be recorded (except for fees). Although the National Tax Agency JAPAN's simplified method includes a description of "rewards", there is no confirmation on the description for payments, so this help page will guide you on how to upload "rewards" using the simplified method.

Example: If you hold 10 Polygons on January 1, purchase 50 Polygons during the period, and hold 100 Polygons on December 31

▼If the acquisition history of 10 Polygons is not yet uploaded to cryptact on January 1, upload the acquisition history of 10 Polygons as "BUY".
