How to switch from using the API to the exchange file for trade history

This article explains how to switch from using the API to the exchange file for trade history.

If you would like to retain the trade history that was previously uploaded via the API and, going forward, use the exchange file for uploading any new trades (with timestamps more recent than the most recent trade uploaded via the API), please refer to the below steps.

STEP1.  Delete the API connection.

Please refer to How to delete API connection.

* To prevent duplicate transactions, the system does not allow you to upload trade history via a file if you have an API connection for the same exchange.

* Deleting the API connection alone does not delete the trade history that was previously uploaded.

STEP2.  Upload the exchange file

How to get trade history files from exchanges

* When uploading a file, Cryptact does not allow you to specify a datetime and exclude trades based on timestamps. All trades listed in the file will be processed and uploaded. If you can specify a datetime while downloading the file from the exchange, please do so.

STEP3.  Delete duplicate trades.

* If the file you uploaded contained the entire trade history, you will end up with duplicate transactions for those that were previously uploaded via the API. If this is the case, please delete the necessary transactions.
